Fardings were excited this week to watch a video created especially for them by a Canadian Lighthouse Keeper, Spence Wilson.  Spence is based at Boat Bluff Lighthouse in British Columbia, Canada.  We sent off questions we had about lighthouses and lighthouse keepers to Spence and he was kind enough to answer our questions in video form.  You can watch the video by following this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oSmb33tv5h0  We have also begun work, this week, on the building of our own lighthouses.  We will continue next week to paint, add    detail and build in the electrical circuit so that we have working lighthouses!  In English, we have been thinking about the features of newspaper reports in preparation to writing our own reports, based on an event in the short film The Lighthouse (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6HfBbSUORvo).  Maths has been looking at formal  methods for long multiplication and the bus stop method for division.  In the run up to Christmas, we have also planned a re-telling of the story of the Nativity from the point of view of the donkey and made some rainbow stars to help decorate the Hall.  A group of dedicated Year 6s - under the direction of Mr Henderson - have also been giving up their lunchtimes to create the wonderful Christmas display board outside school.  Have a lovely weekend!  Ms B
